History and Motivation

The fourth international conference on Nanoscience, Nanotechnology and Nanobiotechnology (4th 3NANO - former French-Brazilian meeting on Nanoscience Nanotechnology and Nanobiotechnology) will be organized in Paris, December 2017 from 10 to 14th, in the prestigious Pierre & Marie Curie University (UPMC) Campus.

4th 3NANO intends to be the fourth edition of a long series of Conferences dedicated to nanoscience, nanotechnology and nanobiotechnology and to contribute not only from the point of view of scientific research but also from the point of view of industrial needs and developments. The former were organized in Brasilia on November 18-23th 2007, December 10-14th 2012 and December 10-14th 2015.

The first edition was jointly chaired by Pr. Regine Perzynski from UPMC (France) and Pr. Francisco Tourinho from University of Brasilia UnB (Brazil). Its main goal was to allow strong exchanges between French and Brazilian junior and senior scientists as well as PhD and MSc students, offering them a place to share their researches and to learn from each other in the fields of nanoscience, nanotechnology and nanobiotechnology. Since the second edition, the meeting became an international conference, attracting word-class scientists and experts in all these fields.

This edition will give plenary conferences and bring a wide and exhaustive overview of the "nano community" achievements. Experts in nanomaterials science, nanotechnology and miniaturized devices, nanomedicine, nanometrology, renewable energy, among other fields related to the "nano world", are expected. Some of them already confirmed their participation. Specialists in nanomagnetism and magnetic nanomaterials like Dominique Givord from France, Marcelo Knobel from Brazil and Dino Fiorani from Italy, will be there. Specialists on nanomaterials and nanodevices for renewable energies like Yoon-Boom Hahn from South Korea will be there too.

The conference will be organized in several poster and oral sessions covering with a special emphasis on the following issues:

  • Advanced design and synthesis of nanomaterials
  • Nanomaterials for energy
  • Colloids, nanostructured systems and self-assembly
  • Complex systems and complex fluids
  • Theory, statistical mechanics and computer simulations
  • Magnetic nanostructures, surfaces and interfaces
  • Magnetization processes and magnetization dynamics
  • Advances in biological applications such as nanocarriers, nanocapsules or liposomes

Last but not least, best poster prizes will be awarded by 4th-3NANO and social program will be organized  in the heart of the beautiful Paris.

We are looking forward to welcoming you and wish you an enjoyable stay in Paris !!!
